Hamilton County Marketplace Coming Soon

Did you buy something at one of central Indiana’s festivals or fairs this summer and wish it was available all year round?  Those handcrafted decorative items, unique jewelry pieces, Americana art or delicious treats available at outdoor markets are usually available only during the warmer months.  Many of the local vendors of these products do not have permanent shops and their sales lag in the winter.

The solution for both the consumer and the vendor may be found in a new venture called the Hamilton County Marketplace.  Once a month during the six colder months, the public will be able to purchase their favorite products normally sold at summer and fall festivals, art shows and farmers markets.  Kicking off the New Year on Saturday, January 2, 2010, the Marketplace will have 92 booths in the Hamilton County 4-H Exhibition Hall from 9am-6pm.  From Jan-April and Nov-December, the heated, spacious facility will be filled one Saturday a month with select vendors offering handmade and popular gift, decorative and gourmet items.

Three local market vendors saw the need for a cold weather shopping venue and formed the Hamilton County Marketplace.  Brad Cook and Jeff Zeckel of Noblesville, and Susan Brooks of Atlanta, are the show founders and promoters.  Their goal is to provide the unique shopping experience of an indoor festival market featuring the best and affordable products from local and regional quality vendors.

A different Hamilton County not-for-profit organization will be collecting the $1 admission fee for each show and all admission fees will be donated to the six participating organizations.  Chaucie’s Place will be collecting the admission fee at the January 2nd show.

Interested vendors should call 317-770-8050 or visit the website: hamiltoncountymarketplace.com
