CITY OFFICIAL TO RETIRE THIS SPRING; TWO PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED

(Noblesville, IN)….Mayor John Ditslear has announced that Steve Huntley, Planning Director for the City of Noblesville, will be retiring on March 31, 2012.  Huntley has worked in the city’s Planning Department for almost 32 years.  He has served as the Planning Director since 1980 and worked for five different Noblesville mayors during his career.  Some of Huntley’s many accomplishments during his time with the City of Noblesville have been:  serving as project manager for the expansion and renovation of the Public Safety Building (completed in 1992); applying for and receiving the city’s first Federal Emergency Management Agency grant of over $1 million to buy homes in the flood hazard area of the Southwest Quadrant; helping to develop and plan Noblesville’s Corporate Campus; establishing the road impact fee program in Noblesville; and many more.  During Huntley’s time with the city, he has received such awards as the Ivan H. Brinegar Municipal Management Award from the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns and was twice selected by the Noblesville Common Council as the recipient of their annual Stake in the Ground award.  “Steve has had a tremendous role in shaping the successful growth of Noblesville over the past 30 years.  While he will be greatly missed along with his unmatched experience and knowledge, we wish him nothing but the best on his well-deserved retirement,” said Mayor John Ditslear.
            Mayor Ditslear has appointed Christy Langley to take over as Planning Director and Judi Johnson to take over as Economic Development Director.  Langley has worked for the city for five years as Assistant Economic Development Director.  She earned a

NOBLESVILLE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR HIRED

Hiring Advances One Strategy of the Noblesville Community Vision for Excellence Steering Committee
(Noblesville, IN)….Mayor John Ditslear announced that Cindy Benedict has been hired as the Noblesville Volunteer Coordinator.  Cindy has been a Hamilton County resident for six years and has over twenty-five years of experience in volunteer management for professional organizations, universities, churches, and social service agencies.  Locally, Cindy has served as the Volunteer Coordinator for Third Phase as well been an active volunteer for Grace Community Church, of which she and her family are members.
            “We are thrilled to have Cindy on board.  Her experience in matching volunteers with available volunteer positions will help us to meet a definite need we have in this community,” said Mayor John Ditslear.

RESERVATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR NOBLESVILLE MAYOR’S BREAKFAST FOR SCOUTING
 
(Noblesville, IN)…. The seventeenth annual Noblesville Mayor’s Breakfast for Scouting will be held on Thursday, February 9.  The breakfast is a fundraiser that Mayor John Ditslear hosts for local Boy Scout programs.  Attendees will be asked to make a donation during the breakfast to help fund local Scout programs.  County Commissioner Steve Holt is serving as the chair for the seventh year in a row and will be one of the morning’s featured speakers.  In addition, Scouts of different ages will speak about their experiences and the values and skills that Scouting has taught them.
The breakfast will be held at the Hamilton County 4-H Grounds located at 2003 E.
